Regional Visits to promote awareness of National Procurement Act and Procurement Planning

The APC Committee Secretariat (within Department of Finance) and the National Procurement Commission start a regional awareness campaign today. The teams will be delivering presentations at regional based workshops. These will be important events as they provide a wonderful opportunity to support the Provincial and District Committees of the NPC understand their new roles and functions. The teams are also providing support and awareness on completing Procurement Plans. From Budget 2020, no procurement can commence with the National Procurement Commission unless certified to commence on the National Procurement Plan.

The planned regional visits are part of the Department of Implementation and Rural Development’s awareness workshops and all Provincial Administration and District Administrators and related financial and advisory staff have been invited. The schedule is 14th and 15th August (Port Moresby) for Southern Region, 21st and 22nd (Mt Hagen) and 28th and 29th (Goroka) for Highlands Region, 21st and 22nd (Vanimo) and 28th and 29th August for Momase Region and 4th and 5th September (Kokopo) for New Guinea Islands.
