All Stakeholder Consultation NPA Amendments APEC Haus

Department of Finance will be hosting a consultation workshop to discuss the proposed amendments to the National Procurement Act (NPA) 2018 and consequential amendments to the amended Public Finances Management Act (PFMA) 2018 on:

The National Procurement Act along with the amended PFMA was enacted by Parliament on 12th September 2018. NPA is one of the major public finances management reform sponsored by Department of Finance to promote fair competition and ensure value for money in the public procurement system. NPA came in effect on 1st of April 2019 and the amended PFMA was on the 28th March 2019.

The proposed amendments to both NPA and amended PFMA captures the recent directions given by right Honorable Prime Minister James Marape to enable local contractors to apply for contracts up to KS0 million for 100 per cent government funded projects. Apart from the Prime Minister’s directives, there are additional proposed amendments to other sections of the NPA and PFMA.
