The National Procurement Commission (NPC) successfully hosted a Stakeholders Consultation Workshop on Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) at the Apec Haus in Port Moresby. This significant event brought together key stakeholders to discuss and provide input on improving public procurement and advancing the digital transformation of procurement processes in Papua New Guinea.

The workshop saw the participation of the Chairman of the NPC Board, Heads and representatives of various Public Bodies, Statutory Authorities, and State-Owned Enterprises. Additionally, representatives from international partners such as the World Bank, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the European Union (EU), and other international organizations were in attendance. The Management and Staff of the National Procurement Commission also played a crucial role in facilitating the discussions.

The primary objective of the workshop was to gather valuable insights and feedback from participants to enhance the efficiency and transparency of public procurement through digital means. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize procurement processes and ensure that they are aligned with international best practices.

The NPC CEO, Mr. Joe Sapa, encouraged all stakeholders, including suppliers, industry professionals, and the general public, to actively participate in this digital transformation journey. By engaging in knowledge sharing, professional development, and fostering innovation within public procurement, we can collectively contribute to a more efficient and transparent procurement system in Papua New Guinea.
