The composition of the National Procurement Commission Board is prescribed under Sec 13(1), NP Act 2018. The National Procurement Act 2018 under Section 13, establishes the NPC Board and defines its composition to oversee procurement operations for all public and statutory bodies. There shall be seven (7) board members and they include the Secretary for Department of Finance or his delegate, Secretary for Department of Works or his delegate, the State Solicitor or his delegate, a representative of the Institute of Engineers, a representative of the Institute of Business/ Accountant, an Independent Member and a representative of Civil Society.

Board members serve for a term of four years at which new appointments are made. Any board member can be appointed as Chairman by the Head of State on advice from the National Executive Council (NEC). The current Chairman is the Secretary for Finance. The Board plays a crucial role in ensuring the NPC’s compliance with legislative, regulatory, and governance responsibilities, particularly in the area of procurement.

The Board has the authority to delegate some of its powers to Committees to perform functions on behalf of the Board.  These Committees are to operate in accordance to the instructions issued by the National Procurement Commission Board.
